York Way is short of pubs, particularly as you walk north, so popped in here on a Friday afternoon for a beer. Bright, airy and with chilled music, albeit slightly loud. Turned out that this was a hotel - didn’t stay, so can’t comment on the accommodation. Staff were very friendly and drinks were reasonably priced. Beers were all lagers and craft, rather than cask. A pleasant experience but probably wouldn’t return.

This place has been the worst experience I have ever had while travelling in my life. Even though we booked a 7 nights stay 4 months in advance, the receptionist welcomed us telling that our room was not available, and he would provide us another (bigger) room that we had to leave the next day. When we asked the reasons for this, he told he was doing us a favor, implying we shouldn't have complained. Sadly, since the reception was always empty, we couldn't get the keys for the other room in the next morning, and we were forced to go back in the hotel in the afternoon, due to a phone call by said receptionist asking us to get there or the cleaning services would have to move our luggage for us. Sadly, this is just the beginning of a really bad experience. Room was dusty and dirty, with occasional spiders climbing the walls. Room and towel cleanup was on demand, but nowhere stated in the hotel. Wi-Fi hasn't been working for three days straight. The bathroom was the smallest one I've ever had the (un)pleasure to get in; there was no soap to wash yourself. Floor was pretty arched, probably due to water leakage from the bathroom. But this isn't even the worst part of this stay: since everything was so narrow in the bathroom, I accidentally hurt my head with the towel rail, cutting my forehead in the process. A slightly more profound cut would have needed stitches, but I was lucky enough to just realize what was going on and get on my bed to safely lose consciouness there for a good 15 minutes. I'm sorry to say this, but stay away from this place.

Without a doubt the worst ‘hotel’ I have ever had the displeasure of staying at. Staff at the bar were friendly, but not a soul in sight behind the hotel desk for the entirety of our stay. The state of the buildings interior makes it appear as if it has been abandoned for years (broken banisters, mouldy walls and peeling carpets etc.) Room 15 stank of raw sewage to an almost unbearable degree. The shower handles broke off with the slightest touch, although this is probably a blessing in disguise, as bathing in such conditions would almost certainly result in some form of waterborne parasite or disease. The television was the smallest I have ever seen, and was tucked away in the deepest recesses of the damp-ridden ceiling. There was also no remote leaving it completely inoperable. Between the number of sketchy characters roaming the streets at all hours of the night, and the dilapidated halls and rooms, this place is better suited as a horror attraction rather than a hotel. For any soul brave enough to spend the night, don't say I didn’t warn you.

I Really enjoyed my stay, I will be using the hotel again for business trips, good location close to Kings Cross. There is a good cafe next door for all day breakfasts.

Zero on site staff during our visit (unless they were hiding in the walls). The room was horrific, I've been in morgues that smelt better than the room we had to stay in. The toilet and bathroom STANK of raw sewage and decomposing flesh, the hallway floors were suspiciously sticky. The curtains appeared to be mouldy, the carpet was decrepit and peeling away from the floor. Dust, dirt and other miscellaneous crumbs caked the floor also. Wouldn't recommend exploring the local area as we saw many sketchy/slightly unnerving inhabitants nearby. Stay at this hotel if you want to visit an active biohazard!!
